Commissions
As an artist specializing in batik, I find immense fulfillment in accepting commissions. The opportunity to create unique pieces of art that are tailored to the vision of my client a truly gratifying experience. Commissioned batiks allow me to explore new themes, incorporate personal narratives, and collaborate closely with individuals to bring their artistic ideas to life. I deeply value the trust and appreciation that clients place in my creative process. Please contact me if you are interested in having me create a custom batik for you.

Hazard and Luna are litter mates who live in Washington DC with my elder daughter and her significant other. The kittens loved to play with the vertical blinds in the apartment.

Hazard and Luna
2011 ~ I made this five-piece batik for my younger daughter when she left for college. It is based on a butterfly decal that was on the old junker of a Chevy Cavalier she drove in high school. I like to think that it captures the quirkiness of that decal and the car it called home.
I usually apply dye with a brush, but this was dipped in a big tray. A big tray — each piece is three feet tall.

Cavalier Memories
I liked a photo by my friend Michael Stewart so much that I immediately set out to make it into a batik for him. My husband surprised him with it over lunch.
